Shopping
A map and directions to local shops are provided in the welcome pack to all rentees.
The closest local shop to the villa is Open Cor - less than 10 minutes walk. Open Cor is a convenience store selling fresh bread baked on the premises, a range of groceries, fruit and vegetables, toiletries, household goods, books, DVDs, newspapers and gifts. The store is open from 8am to 2.30am. Also in the same parade of shops is a hardware, beach goods and gifts store, hairdressers/beauty salon and Chinese restaurant/takeaway. There is also a cashpoint.
Open Cor/Local Shops, Chemist, Garage
Beyond the parade of shops is a chemist and a garage which sells limited groceries as well as fuel. The chemist shuts for the traditional Spanish siesta every afternoon. In emergencies, there is a 24 hour chemist situated just off the N340 main road beyond Elviria. A sign on the N340 shows its location.
Less than 5 minutes drive/15 minutes walk from the villa is Supersol supermarket at El Rosario that sells groceries, fresh bread, fruit and vegetables, toiletries, sunscreen. Supersol also stocks a good range of wines, beers, spirits and mixers.

Also close by are Lidl and Mercadona supermarkets which are larger than Supersol and offer a greater variety of fruit, vegetables and general groceries.
La Canada shopping mall, Marbella is less than 10 minutes drive from the villa. It is the largest shopping centre on the Costa del Sol with over 150 shops and restaurants. In the heart of the mall is the huge Al Campo Hypermarket where you can buy just about everything ranging from groceries to clothes, shoes, toys, housewares, books, electrical items, etc.
Other shops include clothes shops, shoe shops, furniture shops, sportswear stores, jewellers, gift stores. Alongside the shopping mall is a cinema and bowling complex. At least one of the eight screens shows an English/American movie at any one time. Parking is free and buses travel to and from Marbella centre.
Marbella Old Town (Casco Antiguo) contains a delightful range of shops including many gift shops and leather goods shops. Puerto Banus port is surrounded by shops and there is also a large department store, El Corte Ingles, next to the port.
A great way to shop is at one of the many markets that take place along the coast.
Marbella town street market is on Mondays from 9am-2pm, next to the Recinto Ferial, Marbella (Zona de Las Albarizas). Taking a taxi from the villa means not having to find a parking space and drops you directly at the market. The return journey can be made by walking down into the town centre and taking a bus.
Calypso street market is on Thursdays from 9am-2pm, next to Calahonda El Zocco shopping centre on the N340.
La Cala street market is on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am-2pm, situated at the Cala de Mijas fairground just off the N340 road at La Cala - a few kilometres west of Fuengirola.
Lidl and Mercadona - between El Rosario and Elviria, Marbella
Puerto Banus street market is on Saturdays from 9am-3pm, near the bull ring situated in the area of Neuva Andalucia about 1km north of Puerto Banus Marina. It is one of the largest markets on the Costa del Sol and is more 'upmarket' than other local markets - selling crafts, paintings, textiles, furniture and antiques as well as the usual clothes, shoes, bags and jewellery. There is a large underground car-park at Puerto Banus. Alternatively, buses run from central Marbella to Puerto Banus.
